On the Web - The stranding and death of over 100 sea turtles in Queensland in 2012 has triggered studies on water quality, including checking for pollution, pesticides, bacteria, and heavy metals. The study, expected to run until 2018, will help collect data on the health of the Upstart Bay ecosystem in hopes of preventing or minimizing wildlife deaths in the future.
