A Sad and Serious Warning

Thamnophis.com - A long-term reptile keeper and breeder decided to return to his childhood roots and add some garter snakes to his personal collection.  Following the same regimented and successful quarantine practice he’d been using for decades, he treated their enclosure with Provent-a-Mite before their arrival, as he’d done countless time for other, larger snakes.  Only then did he discover that PAM, as it is commonly called, is not harmless for “all” reptiles as the two beautiful and healthy juvenile garter snakes succumbed to its toxins within hours of being placed in their enclosures.
