New Species of Green Palm-Pitviper (Bothriechis guifarroi)
On the Web - A New Species of Green Palm-Pitviper of the genus Bothriechis, has been discovered from a threatened cloud forest reserve in northern Honduras.
The New species which has been named Bothriechis guifarroi was previously confused with other pitvipers from the same region due to the similarity in colour pattern and scalation.
Bothriechis guifarroi was discovered by biologists during two expeditions in 2010, the scientists were aiming to study the fauna of Texiguat Wildlife Refuge one of the most animal rich and diverse forests in the world.@ On the Web
