World of Ball Pythons - This is a detailed article by Bill Buchman that covers substrateless incubation setup for reptile eggs.

Technically there IS substrate, but the basic idea of this method is that the eggs and substrate do not touch, allowing for full air circulation around the egg, and high humidity, without wet eggs.

This method is used by many breeders, with many species, Bill covers the details well.
