Water-Seeking Parasite Emerges from Mantis

YouTube - Horsehair worms are behavior-altering parasites that cause their hosts to seek sources of water, often drowning themselves in it, so the worms can emerge to reproduce. In this case, the mantis is kept largely above water with just the abdomen submerged, so the worm emerges but the mantis remains alive.

(Editor’s Note: The fact that we have two different videos of the same phenomenon could mean this condition isn’t nearly as rare as we’d want it to be!)
