On the Web - The Detroit Zoo, among other facilities, has taken in a handful of uromastyx that were seized by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. 343 animals were taken in the seizure, but over half died as a result of the inhumane conditions they were smuggled in. Once these 8 lucky lizards finish their minimum of 6 months quarantine, they will join the Holden Reptile Conservation Center as permanent residents.
