San Clemente Night Lizard Population Booming

On the Web - After years of torture by the Navy for training exercises, San Clemente Island has shown great healing. The restoration of the island by Naval biologists began in 1992 with the removal of feral introduced animals and reintroduction of native species. The Night Lizards endemic to the island have one of the largest lizard populations in the world with an estimated 21.3 million thriving.
