On the Web - From “We took our own independent lab results, and added them to a chart from Mark Finke, who worked in the area of comparative animal nutrition for more than 20 years and has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin with a dual major in nutritional sciences and entomology, to create the most complete feeder insect nutrition chart.

Many charts have been going around for years, but they are not reliable. There are two ways that feeder companies have made the insects they offer look superior in the past. One is by using dry matter, and the other is by using a different size of insect than others that were tested.

Unless you are feeding a dried insect, the dry matter test will be inaccurate. This is why it is important not to use dry matter. If you compare an adult cricket to a newborn dubia, you will find that the protein is comparable. However, if you compare an adult cricket to an adult dubia you will find that the dubia have at least 50% higher protein content.”
