USARK: Action Alert, Nevada
USARK - Nevada Assembly Bill 479 bans the importation, possession, sale, transfer, and breeding of “dangerous wild animals,” or DWAs in Nevada. The bill allows a person who possesses a DWA before July 1, 2019, to keep that animal only if the person meets certain requirements (i.e. $250,000 liability insurance, etc.). As we have witnessed from similar legislation in other states, this could lead to dozens of healthy animals being seized. This bill creates problems that do not currently exist.
