USARK - The city of Oak Grove, Kentucky has proposed a blanket ban on all “exotic animals.” Council Member Leavell stated the ban would include “anything that could be considered exotic,” including examples of snakes and pot-bellied pigs. Essentially, this would be an open door for fines or seizures of any animal that is not a dog, cat, or the city’s definition of “livestock.”

An ordinance reading and vote will occur on Facebook Live at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020. Citizens in opposition should contact city council members and the mayor as soon as possible to voice their opposition. Click the big green arrow below to learn how to do so.
